Krish was buried in his office paperwork when his phone broke the silence. He glanced at the screen, his friend Yuvansh, he picked up instantly.
"Hello? I sent you that photo days ago," Krish said, his voice laced with impatience. "Did you find out anything about her?"
"Chill, dude," Yuvansh's relaxed voice came through the line. "I checked her background thoroughly. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this girl. Dishita Sharma has no connection to the Yaduvanshi family."
Krish's brows furrowed. "Then how did this marriage proposal even come up? Someone must have orchestrated this."
"It's actually quite simple. A close friend of Gayatri Dadi recommended Dishita to them," Yuvansh explained.
"What about the rest of her family?" Krish asked, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"If Dishita is innocent, is there anyone else in her circle who is close to the Yaduvanshi's?"
"Man, everyone's background is completely clean. No one has any ties to them," Yuvansh sighed.
He paused, his tone shifting from casual to dead serious. "Listen to me, Krish... if you are actually serious about marrying her, please tell her the truth first. She deserves to know about your past and the history with the Yaduvanshi's."
A heavy silence fell over the office. Krish's face darkened, but he didn't offer a single word of response.
Sensing the thick tension, Yuvansh tried to laugh it off. "Anyway, she is beautiful and incredibly sweet. You should honestly just settle down. You're at the perfect age for marriage!"
"Shut up," Krish muttered, rolling his eyes, though the knot of anxiety in his chest remained tight.
"Jokes aside, Krish..." Yuvansh's voice became fiercely protective. "You are playing a dangerous game. You are marrying their daugter. When the Sharma family eventually finds out who you really are, they will be furious."
A cold, mirthless smile played on Krish's lips. "They won't be able to do a single thing."
Without waiting for a reply, he hung up.
The silence of the empty office rushed back in. The fleeting smile vanished, replaced by an expression of pure ice.
"Dishita Sharma," he whispered into the quiet room. "Get ready to become Dishita Singhania."
He picked up his pen and went back to work, his mind completely made up.
Meanwhile, at the Yaduvanshi mansion, a far more sinister plan was unfolding.
Inside Gayatri's dimly lit bedroom, the family had gathered in hushed conspiracy. Only Kiara was missing from the meeting.
"We need Krish to fall deeply, hopelessly in love with Dishita," Gayatri said, a cruel smirk twisting her lips.
"And right when he is entirely dependent on her love, we will tear them apart. We will build a wall between them that he can never cross."
"This will completely shatter him," Rajveer chimed in, his smile dripping with malice.
"It will break his spirit. Once he is emotionally ruined, he won't have the strength to oppose us or interfere in our business affairs."
"And more importantly, he won't be able to interfere in Kiara's life either," Rajveer added coldly.
"We can dispose of her however we please."
Shanti shifted uncomfortably, a flicker of guilt crossing her face. "But... what if he doesn't fall for her?"
"That is exactly why we choose Dishita," Gayatri replied smoothly, dismissive of any doubt. "She is simple, naive, and sweet. She is the kind of girl anyone would naturally love. Even if he resists love, he will undoubtedly become emotionally attached to her."
"But if we pull them apart, Dishita's heart will break too," Shanti murmured, feeling a pang of sympathy for the innocent girl.
"I couldn't care less about her heart," Gayatri snapped, her voice like cracking ice. "Our only goal is to destroy Krish through this marriage. After that, we will marry Kiara off to someone here in India so we can keep her under our thumb. That is all that matters."
At the Sharma household, the atmosphere was a stark contrast, filled with warmth and lighthearted chatter.
"Dishita! Where are you lost?" Navya's loud voice snapped Dishita out of her daydream.
"We've been talking to you for ten minutes, but you're miles away!"
Dishita's cheeks instantly burned a crimson. She quickly lowered her gaze, staring intently at her hands.
"Oh wow, look at her go!" Poorvi teased, bursting into a laugh. "She is blushing so hard! It looks like Krish Ji left quite an impression on our little sister."
"It's... it's nothing like that," Dishita whispered, though her glowing face betrayed her words.
"Really?" Poorvi arched her eyebrows playfully. "Come on, tell us. What did you two talk about when you were alone?"
"Nothing special," Dishita said, trying to steady her fluttering heart. "We just talked about our careers."
Navya let out a dramatic groan. "Ugh! How incredibly boring!"
"Exactly," Poorvi added, nudging Dishita's shoulder. "We thought you did be discussing your honeymoon plans or what life will be like after the wedding!"
"Oh my god! Please, both of you, shut up!" Dishita cried out, covering her burning face with her hands as Navya and Poorvi dissolved into fits of laughter.
Once the teasing subsided, Poorvi's expression softened. She reached out, gently taking Dishita's hand in hers. "Jokes aside, Dishu... tell me honestly. Do you actually like him?"
Dishita hesitated, searching her own feelings. "I don't know if it's love yet, but he is a genuinely good man. The entire time I was with him... I felt completely safe."
"So, are you ready to marry him?" Poorvi asked, a warm smile gracing her lips.
Dishita nodded shyly. "Yes. I mean... if he is ready, then I am ready too."
A sudden knock on the door cut their conversation short. Prachi stood at the entrance. "Come downstairs, girls. The elders are calling for you."
Taking a deep, calming breath, Dishita stood up.
They walked downstairs together to find the entire family waiting anxiously in the living room.
"Dishita, come sit next to me. We need to talk," her father, Bhavesh, said gently.
Gathering every ounce of her courage, Dishita spoke up before he could continue. "Papa, I already know what you want to ask. I am ready for this marriage. But... I do have one worry."
A wave of shocked silence washed over the room. No one expected her to agree so quickly.
"Are you truly ready, my child?" Manish asked, his voice overflowing with fatherly affection.
"Yes, Papa," Dishita said softly.
She then turned her eyes toward her aunt, Jaya. "But Badi Maa, I barely know how to handle household chores. And also my college is in Delhi. How will I manage my studies while living here in Udaipur?"
Manish smiled warmly, stepping forward to rest a reassuring hand on her head. "First of all beta, you will learn the household work in due time. We aren't marrying you off tomorrow! Everything will happen slowly, with proper rituals.
Secondly, we will personally speak to your college authorities and sort out the arrangements."
Dishita looked up at him, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Promise me, Papa? You will make sure my studies don't suffer?"
Manish nodded tenderly. "I promise you, beta."
Later that evening, word arrived that Krish had also officially agreed to the alliance.
During dinner at his own house.
At night Krish pulled out his phone. He quietly reviewed the background details Yuvansh had sent regarding Dishita.
Staring at her photograph, a soft, rare smile touched his lips before he turned off the lights and went to sleep, her face lingering in his thoughts.
With both sides giving their consent, the families agreed to hold the Roka ceremony the very next day, following the auspicious timing given by the pandit ji.
The following morning, the Sharma residence was alive with joy and celebration. It was an intimate affair, with only close family members present to witness the union.
The Yaduvanshi and Sharma families exchanged warm greetings.
Shanti stepped forward and gently draped a stunning, traditional red veil (chunnari) over Dishita's head.
Just like that, Manish applied a sacred tilak onto Krish's forehead and helped him tie a traditional turban (pagdhi). They sat together as a short, beautiful prayer ritual was conducted.
"Alright, alright! My brother got his gifts! Now it's time for my new bhabhi!" Kiara chereed excitedly.
She stepped forward, presenting Dishita with large boxes of chocolates and a fresh bouquet of white lilies.
Dishita's smile widened. "Thank you so much, Kiara." She pulled her nto a warm, genuine hug.
"The priest is going to arrive shortly for the final blessings," Bhavesh informed the elders. "Until then, let's give the kids a few moments alone to talk.
"Dishita, why don't you take Krish out to the garden?" Nisha suggested with a knowing smile.
Dishita stood up, her heart racing slightly as Krish followed her out into the serene, quiet garden.
She pointed toward a comfortable chair for him and took a seat opposite him.
Trying to break the ice, Dishita spoke up. "Um... I actually wanted to ask you something. My college is currently ongoing in Delhi. How will I manage to study after moving to Udaipur?"
Krish thought for a brief second before answering calmly. "You don't need to worry about that. I will arrange your admission into the top university here in Udaipur so you can complete your degree without any hurdles."
Dishita's eyes widened with pure delight. "Really? Thank you so much!"
he paused, feeling a bit curious"But... why were you studying in Delhi when your family is based here?"
"Oh, actually, we used to live there permanently," she explained with a gentle smile. "Then we had to shift to Delhi because of our family business. So that's how I ended up there."
Krish nodded silently, absorbing the information.
Just then, the peaceful atmosphere was broken as Navya and Kiara walked into the garden, wearing massive, mischievous grins.
Kiara giggled. "Oh, did we interrupt a romantic moment?"
"Not at all," Krish replied smoothly, instantly masking his emotions and reverting to his usual composed self.
"Good," Navya teased, winking at Dishita. "Because everyone is calling you both back inside. Panditji has arrived."
Krish nodded. Without a word, he reached down and firmly grasped Dishita's hand.
The unexpected touch sent a rush of warmth through her, making her blush deeply. Holding hands, they walked back into the house together to face their future.
