31. CONFESSION ♡

Hey divasss💅🏻

Happy reading

.

Her POV

My suitcase sat open on the bed. Next week, college starts, and I have to go back to Delhi. It hurt to think about leaving this place again.

We only have three days left here. The plan was for all of us....me, my husband, Yuvansh Bhai, Vansh Bhai, Kuhu, and yeah, Ashi...to finally explore Udaipur.

None of us had ever truly seen the beauty of this city.

Right now, the house felt empty. My husband wasn't home, and neither were the bhai.

Kuhu was lost in a movie in her room, and Ashi? Honestly, I didn't care less about her.

I walked back into the cupboard to grab more clothes. That was when my eyes drifted to his side of the wardrobe.

Should I try on his clothes?I mean, why not?

He wasn't here to catch me invading his space.

I pulled one of his shirts from the hanger.

I was already wearing a pretty ivory floral maxi dress with puff sleeves, but the urge to feel close to him was too strong.

The moment I lifted the fabric, his fragrance hit me. His whole cupboard smelled completely like him. A tender smile appeared on my lips.

I slipped his oversized shirt over my dress. As the fabric settled on my shoulders, a wave of warmth washed over me.

It felt like a phantom embrace, as if he was wrapping his arms around me from behind.

I twirled around in a slow circle and giggled to myself like a fool.

"You are such a fool, Dishita," I whispered to the empty room.

Then, catching my reflection in the mirror, my smile only widened."Nope! I am just a girl... who is helplessly in love.

This shirt reaches all the way down to my mid-thighs. Huh. He really is a dinosaur.

I smile, carefully taking the shirt off and hanging it back in the cupboard.

But as I turn around, my elbow knocks into a file. Papers scatter everywhere across the floor."Oh, shit," I mutter, quickly kneeling down to gather them.

Who even puts a file here? So careless. It belongs in the study room. It must be either incredibly important or completely useless.

As I group the scattered pages together, my eyes lock onto the text.

The ground completely slips from beneath my feet. DIVORCE PAPERS. Our names are printed right there. Clear as day.

Mr. Krish Singhania and Mrs. Dishita Singhania.

My heart stops. My breathing hitches. I rub my eyes aggressively and look again, praying I am wrong. But it is true. I am not dreaming.

"No, no, no... this can't be true. This is a lie," I whisper to the empty room.

But my tears cannot wash the ink away. Our names didntt disappear.

My hands and feet shake violently. Tears flood my eyes, blurring everything in front of me.

If he was having problems with this marriage, he should have talked to me. We could have solved this together.

Just two days ago, we happily celebrated his birthday. Then why this? Why was he hiding this from me?

I can't think anymore. My lungs refuse to take in oxygen. I can't breathe. I desperately need air.

Stumbling to my feet, I bolt out of the room. I run out of the house as fast as my legs can carry me.

Outside, the sky has turned pitch black. Rain starts pouring down, and loud thunder shakes the ground. Usually, storms terrify me.

Today, the roaring sky doesn't scare me at all. The storm inside my chest is far worse.

I just run. Barefoot. I need air, and I need to think. I have no idea where I was going, but I just have to get away.

A million painful questions torture my mind with every step.

Didn't he love me? Didn't he fall in love with me the way I fell for him?

Was everything we shared until now just a lie? A cruel act? A forced compromise?

Does he hate me because he had to fight his own family for me?

Because he had to leave them for my sake?

Did I overdo it on his birthday?

Did he never want to marry me in the first place?

I am completely out of breath, my throat burning, but I don't care. I just keep running into the dark rain.

His POV

I was sitting with Vansh and Yuvansh, discussing something important.

But after a while, an intense uneasiness washed over me. I couldn't focus.

Maybe I was just missing her. Maybe if I could just see her face, I would finally be at peace.

"I'm heading home," I said, picking up my blazer.

They both frowned, confused by my sudden departure, but they didn't ask questions. "We'll head out too, then," they replied.

I grabbed my keys, started the engine, and within minutes, my car hit the main road. Vansh and Yuvansh were driving right behind me in their own cars.

As soon as I parked, I rushed upstairs to our bedroom. But she wasn't there.

The only thing in the room was a packed bag. I checked the washroom, but it was empty. The cupboard was wide open and cleared out.

Panic started to set in.

I hurried back downstairs, where Vansh, Yuvansh, Ashi, and Kuhu were sitting."Where is Dishu?" I asked, looking at all of them.

"She was just upstairs in the room," Kuhu replied, looking up.

"She's not in the room," I said, my voice tight.

I spotted a servant nearby and called out, "Have you seen Dishu anywhere?"

"No, sir. Ma'am has been in her room for a long time," she replied.

"She isn't there," I said. My chest tightened. I was genuinely worried now.

I tried to tell myself she was just somewhere else in the house, but the uneasy feeling in my gut was screaming at me.

"She must be around here somewhere. Maybe the garden or the backyard. We'll go check," Vansh said.

He and Yuvansh immediately left to search the grounds.

I pulled out my phone and dialed her number. Again and again. It just kept ringing, but there was no answer. She wasn't picking up.

A few minutes later, the guys walked back inside. "She's not here, man. Nowhere," Yuvansh said, his expression grim.

"Check the CCTV! Where did she go? Ask the guards!" I barked, my panic turning into pure rage.

I sprinted up to the terrace, hoping against hope that maybe she was just there. But the space was completely empty.

When I rushed back downstairs, the two security guards were already standing there, trembling.

"Where is Dishita?" I demanded, my voice shaking with fury.

"Si... sir, we don't know," one of them stammered.

"Then why the hell are you standing outside?!" I roared. "You had one job! You can't even do that right?"The guards flinched.

I stepped closer, my vision blurring with anger. "If... if anything happens to my wife, I swear none of you will survive my wrath."My voice echoed violently through the entire house.

No one dared to breathe.

Just then, Vansh rushed in with the CCTV footage. I stared at the screen, and my breath caught in my throat.

There she was. Running out into the dark. Crying. Barefoot.

My heart clenched so painfully I could barely breathe.

This was serious. Something was completely, terribly wrong. "I'm going to look for her. Trace her location right now!" I ordered.

My breathing grew heavy, ragged. My heart pounded like a trapped animal against my ribs.

Please God, let her be okay, I prayed desperately.

I grabbed my keys, sprinted to my car, and drove blindly into the night. I had no idea where she would go.

I had no idea why she would leave.

A thousand agonizing questions tore through my mind.

Why was she crying?

Why did she run away barefoot?

Who the hell hurt her?

All I knew was that I had to find her.

Dishita POV

My feet were bleeding, freezing, and numb.

The freezing rain drenched me completely, washing away my tears but failing to cool the fire burning in my chest.

I didn't know how long I had been running. I just kept moving, escaping the suffocating truth.

Suddenly, bright headlights blinded me.

A car screeched to a halt right in front of me. Its tires roared against the wet asphalt. I froze.

It was Krish Ji's car. He rushed out into the pouring rain. His eyes were wild with terror and relief.

The moment he reached me, he grabbed my shoulders and pulled me into a tight embrace.

His whole body was shaking violently with heavy breaths. I didn't hug him back.

He broke the hug and gripped my arms. "Are you okay? What happened? Why did you run away from home like this? Who leaves like this without saying a word? If something had happened to you-"He couldn't even finish.

I pushed him away with all my strength and slapped him hard across the cheek.

The impact snapped his face to the side. He stared back at me in utter disbelief. I thought he was going to shout at me.

Instead, his voice cracked."What happened? Did I do something to upset you? I'm sorry if I did... but please tell me. What is my fault?" He asked softly, trying to take my hands in his.

I violently pushed his hands away. He instantly cupped my cheeks, his palms warm against my freezing skin. "Let's go home. We will talk at home, okay?"

"Which home?" I asked, my voice dripping with bitterness.

He looked confused. "Our home, Dishu."I let out a hollow, mocking chuckle."Why are you putting on this act?" I asked straight out.

"Act-"I didn't let him finish.

"If you had a problem with this marriage, you should have talked to me!" I shouted.

He froze, completely shocked by my aggression. He looked at me, stunned."You want to leave me, right?" I asked, the burning pain of betrayal tearing through my chest.

"What? What are you say-"Again, I cut him off.

"I told you that you didn't need to leave your family for me. But you were the one who said, 'Trust me' And I trusted you!" My voice trembled in the rain.

"Why? Just so you could divorce me?"The moment the words left my mouth, his entire body went rigid.

The confusion in his eyes vanished. It was replaced by a sudden, sickening realization.

"You were going to throw me out of your life," I whispered. My voice broke completely as fresh tears flooded my eyes.

"Everything we shared... your smiles, your touch... it was all a script, wasn't it? You never wanted me."

"YOU HATE ME-"This time, he didn't let me finish. He grabbed my waist and pulled me flush against his chest. He crashed his lips against mine.

The kiss wasn't soft. It was desperate, fierce, and punishing. It felt less like a kiss and more like he was consuming me.

I refused to kiss him back. Gathering all my anger, I bit his lip harshly. Within seconds, the metallic taste of his blood mixed with the rainwater on our lips. But he didn't stop.

His grip was ironclad. There was absolutely no space between us. I tried to push his chest, but he pinned my hands behind my back.

My fragile attempts failed completely."mhmm," a muffled sound escaped my trapped lips.

He finally pulled back just as I ran out of breath. He rested his forehead against mine, panting heavily.

His grip didn't loosen, but he let go of my hands to soothe my trembling back.

I opened my mouth to speak, but I couldn't catch my breath. Once my breathing evened out, I glared at him.

"DON'T COME NEAR ME! I HATE YOU!" I screamed, trying to push him away again.

He didn't budge."But I freaking love you," he replied. His intense gaze was locked onto mine.

He looked devastatingly handsome. His hair was soaked, water dripped from his eyelashes, swollen lips and rain tracked down his jaw....

No. Control yourself, Dishita. Focus.

"Don't lie," I whispered.

His eyes flared with a sudden, terrifying anger. His grip on my waist tightened so hard it almost hurt.

"Lie?" he echoed, his voice dropping to a dark, dangerous whisper.

"You think this is a lie, Dishita? Look at me! Look into my eyes and tell me you honestly believe I am acting!"

I tried to look away, but he wouldn't let me."You think it's that easy?" he yelled against the roaring rain, his chest heaving against mine.

"You think... I ruined everything? But you don't know the truth. They were never my family, got it?!" He paused, catching his breath.

"And chasing you down like a madman in the middle of a storm? You think I did all this for a script? Answer me!"

"Then what about the divorce papers?!" I shot back, the anger exploding out of me. "I saw them! You were hiding them from me!"He completely froze.

The rage in his eyes shattered instantly. His hands began to tremble against my skin. Slowly, his forehead dropped against mine, his hot breath mixing with the freezing air.

The anger was entirely gone, replaced by a raw, crushing despair."I made those papers before I knew you," he choked out, his voice cracking completely.

"Before I knew what it felt like to actually live. Before I fell completely, helplessly in love with you."A heavy sob escaped his throat, and he hid his face in the crook of my neck.

"If I wanted to throw you out, why would I be dying inside right now?" he whispered brokenly, his warm tears wetting my cold skin.

"Don't leave me, Dishu. Please. I will burn the whole world down before I let you go. You are the air I am breathing right now. You are the air I need."I looked up at him, my heart aching.

"But the divorce papers-"

"To hell with the divorce papers!" he cut me off fiercely. "Do you really think a piece of paper can separate you from me? Huh? You are completely wrong, wifey. I don't believe in those papers. I only believe in you."

He dropped on his both knees, holding my hand tightly and kissed my hands softly... looking into my eyes.

"I FUCKING LOVE YOU, MRS. DISHITA KRISH SINGHANIA!

I F.U.C.K.I.N.G L.O.V.E Y.O.U! DO YOU HEAR ME? I FREAKING LOVE YOU!"

He said every words emphasizing....
